Good morning and happy Monday friends! Here is a little recap of what JHP was up to this weekend! Lately all of my weekends have seemed to fly by, they have been full of beautiful brides, amazing venues, endless piles of gorgeous flowers and I have loved every minute of it! John and I usually have date nights on Friday evenings so we can unwind from the hectic week and the chaos that seems to be our lives Monday – Friday. This weekend I made a yummy dinner and date night took place on our back deck! What was on the menu you ask, ricotta, basil and spinach stuffed chicken with fresh green beans! You can see a photo of it here. Eating on our deck has become on of our most favorite evening activities. Our neighborhood is so quiet and dogs get to run around while we chat about out day and maybe im a little crazy but i just love the evening heat. I was up bright and early Saturday which is pretty normal for me as I truly enjoy an early morning cup of joe on the couch catching up on a TV show I missed during the week and snuggling up with my two best pals, Bear & Ellie. This Saturday, a gorgeous bride and her sailor we saying “I Do” and I could not have been more thrilled to document their day! Their wedding took place up in Street Maryland at Deer Creek Overlook nestled way back in the woods just across a cute old bridge.  A perfect location for a quite intimate ceremony with close friends and family. Congratulation Katie + Robert! Sundays always become this made rush to get everything prepared for the week! Yesterday was no different. I won’t bore you with all the details of how we prep for the week and run around like crazy people trying to get everything else done that didn’t get done on Saturday but the best part about Sundays is sitting down to a meal together & of course Watching our favorite Sunday TV show. (TRUE BLOOD is back on people and its the very last season…sad!!!)  Last night we grilled teriyaki kabobs with chicken and steak & homemade mac & cheese, YUM-O! And here is where the fresh watermelon cocktails come into play… I don’t know about all of you, but watermelon is by far my favorite summer time fruit and I think I have just created the best new cocktail around, so simple and very refreshing. John and I decided to grill last night, what better way to spend a Sunday evening, right!? Relaxing on the back deck, fresh veggies and grilled meats, and sipping delicious cocktails to cool down in the summer heat. Earlier, John was cutting up a fresh watermelon when he had the great idea to use the juice in a cocktail so I got to work creating this little yummy guy which we happily enjoyed with dinner. I hope you have a chance to make it this summer!   Fresh Summer Watermelon Cocktail: 2oz. Vodka 2oz.
