I just adore Georgetown, and anytime I am able to shoot there I’m more then happy to make the drive into DC. I love that these two agreed to my crazy idea of a sunrise engagement session. There is nothing better than the quiet, wee morning hours in the city.
We had originally planned our session for Saturday morning, Kellyn and Ross started their Journey up from Richmond at 3:45AM only to text me around 530 as I was arriving DC to let me know they would be a little late due to stopped traffic… seriously, who would have thought there would be traffic at 4 in the morning. No biggie, it was actually a cloudy morning so we had plenty of time. Well to make a long story short – the traffic turned out to be a major accident that completely shut down the roads. These two didn’t even get home later that day until 9:30/10. Luckily, they were troopers; ready and willing to try it all again Sunday and I am so glad we did. Despite the Saturdays chaos, and two ungodly early morning back to back, their session was perfect!
One thing engagement sessions are really great for, getting to know your couples. Seeing their personalities paint a mini picture of who they really are together. I love who these two are, fun, relaxed and full of endless laughter. They have know each other all the way back to high school, moved from New Jersey to Virginia, graduated college and grad school, started their careers and not they are getting married! I am so honored to be able to capture another journey they take together into their new lives as husband and wife! Kellyn + Ross, thank you so much for trusting in me to capture these moments for you. Cant wait to see you both in July!
