“Here’s to all the places we went. and here’s to all the places we’ll go. and here’s to me whispering again and again and again and again: i love you” – John Green
So there I was… editing my little heart out on Lyz and Max’s wedding when all of a sudden I stopped dead in my tracks and realized I was smiling while sorting through their images. Now, when I say smiling, what I really mean is beaming from ear to ear. A big giant goofy smile like how happy a dog is when you come home from work, or when it gets to stick it head out the window during a car ride… It always means a lot to me when a moment from a wedding day stops me dead in my tracks but I realized this one was more that just a moment. I stopped, sat back in my chair and reflected for a few minutes and realized something about Lyz, and Max and their families for that matter. Something that while yes I already knew, it was nice to be reminded of in the moment and something that I would venture to guess 100% of the people in her life already know as well. THIS GIRL, she radiates happiness. Through her eyes, through her smile and through her heart. I realized that plain and simple I couldn’t stop smiling, because they never stopped smiling and their smiles were true, genuine, infectious and so full of joy. With all of that being said, I’m sure you can all venture to guess that their wedding day was just amazing!
Lyz and Max shared their fist look outside of the four seasons in Harbor East complete with dad running to her rescue when her dress got caught on the boardwalk (so sweet!). After portraits we all went back inside to celebrate with the Ketubah signing, a lovely evening ceremony that over looked the water and nighttime skyline of Baltimore and then everyone danced the night away to the fantastic sounds of DC Fusion.
Lyz and Max, I hope that as life moves forward and your adventure takes shape, that you hold these images close to your heart and take time to be reminded of the happiness and the joy from this day. And Lyz, NEVER let that smile fade. It is a beautiful light in a sometime not so beautiful world and your love shines so brightly through it. Thank you both for inviting me into such an important part of your story together and trusting me with documenting these memories for you.
XOXO – J
